1st IASK Shotokan Karate National Camp 2015

The Indian Academy of Shotokan Karate (IASK) conducted the 1st National Shotokan Karate Camp under the guidance of Shihan Nigel Jackson, 9th Dan Black Belt – Chief of Shotokan Karate of South Africa. Master Jackson was assisted by Thomas Sensei, 4th Dan – Shihankai Member of South Africa.

The event was organized under the auspices of IASK led by Sensei Soumen Chatterjee, 4th Dan . He was assisted by other senior black belts including Sensei Nemai Dey, 4th Dan, Sensei S. Dutta 2nd Dan of Durgapur dojo and Gopal Sensei, among others.

More than 200 karate students including 25 black belt instructors of various dojos under IASK participated in the 2 day training camp. Focus was given on kihon, basic & advanced kata and kumite combinations. On the last day of the camp, a grading was also organized where several instructors and coloured belts were successful.

Shihan Nigel Jackson, 9th Dan has formally inducted Sensei Soumen Chatterjee and IASK as an international affiliate of his global organization.
